Strong Showing From Both Offenses In Fishers Varsity Tigers Loss To Franklin Central Varsity Flashes

Fishers Varsity Tigers's bats were strong against Franklin Central Varsity Flashes on Monday, but it wasn't enough as Fishers Varsity Tigers fell 16-11. Franklin Central Varsity Flashes collected 18 hits, while Fishers Varsity Tigers had 14. Franklin Central Varsity Flashes opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two doubles. Franklin Central Varsity Flashes first got on the board when Kiley Renick doubled, scoring one run. Franklin Central Varsity Flashes added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Fishers Varsity Tigers committed an error, and Adelaide Hubbard singled down the right field line, each scoring one run. Fishers Varsity Tigers made the score 6-5 in the bottom of the third after Cate Summerfield drew a walk, scoring one run, Kennedy Shockley doubled, scoring two runs, and Frankie Jackson singled, scoring one run. Franklin Central Varsity Flashes flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring eight runs on six hits to take the lead, 13-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Kiley Renick that drove in two. Fishers Varsity Tigers scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Adrianne Cook drew a walk, scoring one run, Kate Murray singled, scoring two runs, Anna McGrath grounded out, scoring one run, and Kennedy Shockley singled, scoring one run. Olivia Starr earned the win for Franklin Central Varsity Flashes. The reliever surrendered four hits and three runs over three innings, striking out one and walking four. Kate Murray took the loss for Fishers Varsity Tigers. The starter went three and one-third innings, giving up 12 runs (six earned) on nine hits, striking out one and walking two. Kiley Renick started the game for Franklin Central Varsity Flashes. The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and six runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two. Fishers Varsity Tigers tallied 14 hits in the game. Kennedy Shockley went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Kate Murray went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Fishers Varsity Tigers in hits. Adrianne Cook collected three hits for Fishers Varsity Tigers in four at bats. Fishers Varsity Tigers had patience at the plate, accumulating 10 walks for the game. Azstryd Alexander and Cate Summerfield led the team with two free passes each.
