The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red (11–7, 7–6 HCC) opened their conference series with a 6–3 victory over the Franklin Central Flashes on Wednesday night. The Tigers combined dominant pitching with clutch two-out hitting, scoring all six of their runs with two outs. Luke Benefiel led the way on the mound, earning the win with a strong five-inning performance. He allowed just two hits, which resulted in two unearned runs, while striking out seven and issuing no walks. Benefiel was in complete control, retiring the Flashes in order in four of his five innings, with their only scoring rally coming in the lone frame he faced trouble. Hayden Dowell provided solid relief in the final two innings. He allowed one run in the top of the seventh but worked out of a jam by stranding two runners on base to secure the victory. Offensively, the Tigers struck early in the bottom of the first inning. Isaac Fernandez reached on an error with the bases loaded, bringing in the first run. Jackson Pinchouck followed by drawing a walk, forcing in another run to give Fishers a 2–0 lead. Fishers continued their two-out success in the third inning, adding two more runs on a clutch single to left field from Aaron Einsfeld to extend the lead to 4–0. The Tigers added insurance in the fifth inning when Eli Poisel and Chase LoGreco each delivered RBI singles, pushing the advantage to 6–2.
