The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red (7–7, 5–6 HCC) struggled to generate offense Wednesday night, falling to the Avon Orioles 4–0. The Tigers were held to just one hit in the contest. Fishers threatened in the 5th inning when Aaron Einsfeld drew a leadoff walk and Thomas Downey-Underwood followed with the team’s lone hit. However, a popped-up bunt attempt and an infield pop-up halted the rally and kept the Tigers off the scoreboard. The Tigers created another opportunity in the 6th inning as Chase LoGreco and Hayden Dowell each worked walks. After executing a double steal, the pair moved into scoring position. Kellen Ferguson then lifted a fly ball deep enough to potentially bring home a run, but LoGreco was ruled out at the plate on a close tag by the catcher, ending the threat. Despite the loss, Fishers received strong pitching performances. Preston Tidwell threw five solid innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits while striking out eight. Owen Porter provided two scoreless innings of relief, striking out three and not allowing a hit.
